Profile: The Barr family first began raising dairy goats, and then cows in 2008 when they were unable to find a single source of local milk. It was so important for them to know the origin of their milk that they ended up with their own cow. Now, they cannot imagine going back.

The milk is produced from healthy cows who are fed a natural diet of fresh grass and locally grown hay and grains. The cows’ diet varies seasonally. The cows at Kid Creek Pastures are privately owned by community members, and the milk they produce is for the exclusive use in the private homes of their owners. Kid Creek Pastures offers membership shares in the herd, and only share members may obtain milk.
